This week we celebrated our parish life with a dinner. We gathered in the nave by candle-light, 250 of us. We ate smoked, candied salmon on greens with pomegranate and blueberry dressing, hot, crisp croissants with Hawaiian red, salted butter, warm mushroom and rosemary risotto, roasted butternut squash risotto with sage, local ice creams of mint and chocolate with dark chocolate sauces and whipped cream alongside cordials of cherry and coffee. We ate. We laughed. We prayed. We celebrated a successful stewardship campaign. We told our stories and listen to them. We danced to Glenn Miller and lit candles on an altar. And we slept.
It was more than enough grace all ‘round. May God multiply our joy and our mission.
